Catholic Life at St. Augustine’s
We are created in the image of God.
We strive to love and serve Him
in all we do.
With the Gospel Values at the centre of our school,
we aim to value, welcome, understand and support others.
We do this in partnership with family and parish
The Catholic life of the school is rich in opportunities for children to encounter God and to deepen their relationship with Him as a loving, compassionate Father. We enable children to come to know and love God through traditional and informal prayer; through liturgies, Celebration of the Word and Religious Education lessons.

Jubilee 2025
The Holy Father announced that 2025 will be a Jubilee Year, an event that takes place every 25 years. The theme for Jubilee 2025 is “Pilgrims of Hope,” and it will serve as a year of hope for a world enduring the impacts of war, the ongoing effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the climate crisis. School communities are invited to come together as pilgrims of hope, pledging to work collaboratively for God’s kingdom of justice, peace, and love.
Living as Pilgrims of Hope
We are all on a journey to grow closer to the Lord. The Jubilee Year offers many ways to deepen
our faith and strengthen our relationship with God. Let’s embrace the spirit of Jubilee through
prayer and share the hope it brings.
In line with the Year of Jubilee, we are all becoming Pilgrims of Hope. With the personal encounter with Christ, Bishop Patrick encourages each of us to hear and respond to his invitation to be a Disciple, to follow him more closely, and to seek to serve him generously in our daily lives.

Synod 2025
On Tuesday, 21st January 2025, we gathered with all the schools in the Our Lady of Lourdes Multi-Academy Trust for a meeting that was part of the ongoing synodal journey that began in 2021. This deeply spiritual and reflective process provided an opportunity for delegates to engage in listening to Scripture, sharing ideas, and building relationships.
Mrs Ryder Kind has introduced the Eco Team to the school and is currently preparing activities and eco-focused initiatives for the Lenten term. This work is inspired by Pope Francis’s encyclical Laudato Si’, which calls on us to care for our common home. As part of this initiative, students will be encouraged to find ways to improve the school grounds and adopt more environmentally friendly practices.
Gospel Values Team
Children at St Augustine’s have a Gospel Values Team, with children from Year 3 to Year 6 forming a part of the team. They meet each week at St Augustine’s to discuss, pray and talk about ways that they can make a difference in their communities. Children from F2 and KS1 will be joining soon.
