Our Nursery

Welcome to the information page for our Nursery, open to children aged 3-4 years.

We look forward to welcoming your child to Foundation Stage 1 (FS1) where we will help them to become inquisitive and independent learners through playing and exploring together.

We welcome children as soon as they turn three years old into our Foundation 1 setting, and have places for 26 children in the morning and 26 children in the afternoon

We offer both full time places (30 hours) and morning or afternoon only sessions (15 hours).

Morning Sessions run from 8:45am until 11:45am

Afternoon Sessions run from 12:30pm until 3:30pm

15 and 30 hours of funded childcare per week is available. Please check your eligibility here: www.childcarechoices.gov.uk.

At St. Augustine’s, we recognise how important the early years are in shaping a child’s future. Through high-quality experiences, we aim to spark curiosity, build confidence and nurture a lifelong love of learning.

In both F1 (Nursery) and F2 (Reception) we follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, providing a balanced and engaging curriculum, centered around the areas of:

  • Communication and Language
  • Physical Development
  • Personal, Social and Emotional Development

This includes:

  • Literacy
  • Mathematics
  • Understanding the World
  • Expressive Arts and Design

Children learn through play and exploration, where they discover, investigate, and have a go; through active learning, where they concentrate, persevere, and enjoy their successes; and through creative and critical thinking, where they develop ideas, make connections, and solve problems.

We are proud to offer a safe, stimulating and inclusive environment where wellbeing comes first. Our dedicated staff go the extra mile for every child and every family, ensuring everyone feels supported and included.

Our progressive approach helps children grow into confident, independent and motivated learners, fully prepared for the next stage of their education.
